2020 CBFA Annual Conference

Call for Papers/Proposals

Intersection of Faith and Business

Plans are well under way for the 40th annual CBFA conference. This year’s theme is “Intersection of Faith + Business.” We welcome your academic papers or session proposals related to this theme and other topics of interest to the CBFA membership.

 

Submission is now a single-step process that involves completing the submission form online.  Deadlines for submission are as follows:

Priority Submission: June 15, 2020

Extended deadline: July 3, 2020 (submissions after this date will not be considered)

NOTE: Favorably reviewed submissions received after the priority deadline will be assigned to the main program on a space available basis in the order received.

Submission Overview

  • All submissions must be in Microsoft Word .docx format and APA 7 Professional Paper Style (see sample paper here)

  • The file name should include the first author’s last name and part of the document title (e.g., Holbrook-Leadership.docx)

  • Include a title page with authors and contact information (note: identifying information will be removed before reviews)

  • In the spirit of collaboration, multi-author, multi-institution submissions are encouraged; no author will be accepted as lead author for more than TWO sessions

  • Prospective authors are encouraged to consider the reviewing criteria before finalizing submissions (view criteria here)

 

Types of Submissions Considered

  1. Full Papers – complete manuscripts (dissertation-based works, but not whole dissertations, are permitted)

  2. Pedagogy Sessions – demonstration/presentation of best practice teaching techniques

  3. Panel Sessions – experts discussing special topics (subject to reviewer ratings and board approval)

  4. Working Paper Proposals – research in progress (for authors seeking developmental feedback)

  5. Poster Sessions – complete or in-progress manuscripts (displayed in an open forum for one-on-one discussion)

 

Full papers are encouraged. Proposals are acceptable for submission categories b-e and will be considered for the main program on a space available basis (subject to favorable reviews). These must be well developed and clearly detail the following:

  • Title page listing all participants and contact information

  • Abstract

  • Intended purpose

  • Goals / learning outcomes of the session

  • Session highlights to include method of presentation

  • Selected references

Full papers accepted for the regular program are eligible for publication in the Conference Proceedings (published after the conference).
