Call for Submissions

 

Cupbearers to Kings: Empowering Students to Be Future Shapers

Plans are well under way for the 42nd annual CBFA conference. This year’s theme is “Cupbearers to Kings: Empowering Students to Be Future Shapers." We welcome your submissions related to this theme and other topics of interest to the CBFA membership.  All sessions to be delivered in person (i.e., no virtual presentations).

 

Submission is now a single-step process.  Click here to access and complete the conference submission form.  The deadline for submission is July 1, 2022.

Submission Overview

  • All submissions must be in Microsoft Word .docx format and follow the APA 7 Style Guide.  See sample paper here.

  • The file name should include the first author’s last name and part of the document title (e.g., Holbrook-Leadership.docx)

  • All identifying information must be removed from Document Properties.  You may cite your own work(s), but do so in a way that does not reveal your identity as author.

  • No author will be accepted as lead author for more than TWO sessions.

  • Prospective authors are encouraged to consider the reviewing criteria before finalizing submissions.

Types of Submissions Considered

  1. General Papers – complete manuscripts (dissertation-based works are permitted; whole dissertations will not be accepted)

  2. Working Papers – manuscripts in progress (for authors seeking developmental feedback; generally assigned to poster session)

  3. Pedagogical Papers - complete manuscripts demonstrating best practice teaching techniques

  4. Panel Sessions – experts discussing special topics workshop (subject to board approval)

Proposals will be considered for panel sessions only.  These must be well developed and clearly detail the following:

  • Intended purpose

  • Method(s) of presentation

  • Session highlights

  • Learning outcomes of the session

  • Selected references or works cited

Decisions will be either 1) acceptance for a regular program session, 2) acceptance for the poster session, or 3) rejection.

Full papers accepted for the regular program are eligible for publication in the Conference Proceedings (published after the conference).
