Incorporating Enterprise Design Thinking
into the Classroom
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 17, 2019 - 1:00 - 3:30 p.m
JOHN BROWN UNIVERSITY, SILOAM SPRINGS, AR
Enterprise Designing Thinking is a systems framework developed by IBM. It aligns multi-disciplinary teams around the needs of the users and discusses how teams are able to move more efficiently as well as deliver better outcomes when they apply that framework. In this workshop, Dr. Ryan Ladner will talk about the foundations of Enterprise Design Thinking as well as use hands-on activities to show how to incorporate it into your teaching methods.
Dr. Ryan Ladner
Dean, Soderquist College of Business
As the Graduate Business Department Head, Dr. Ladner developed a concentration in Design Thinking and Innovation for the MBA and MS degrees. He also teaches a seminar in Design Thinking and has earned two of the Enterprise Design Thinking Practitioner and Co-Creator badges offered through IBM.
Enterprise Design Thinking focuses on how to serve people. At the heart of this framework is the mission to solve users' problems quickly and accurately. With Enterprise Design Thinking, teams are able to work more efficiently by keeping people at the center of their work.
As Christian educators, not only do we want to teach our students how to work efficiently and effectively but we want to teach them how to serve others and put people first. Incorporating Enterprise Design Thinking into what we teach and how we teach will give our students an advantage in today's changing marketplace.
